The Medical Simulation Center took part in the 23rd International Meeting on Simulation in Health Care

Within the framework of research and, on behalf of the Planning Team for the 23rd International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH 2023), the research abstract from Medical Simulation Center entitledLow fidelity Simulation versus Standardized Patient for teaching Peripheral venous line placement for nursing students: A crossover randomized trial” was accepted on September 6, 2022, for presentation during the IMSH 2023 Live Event, scheduled for January 22nd, 2023 at the Orlando Convention Center, Orlando, Florida.

Prof. Chadli DZIRI the MSC Director, presented at the meeting the findings of the randomized controlled trial undertaken by the Medical Simulation Center team, involving 172 second-year nursing students from the Honoris Schools of Health (Centrale Santé, Upsat Tunis, Upsat Sousse, and Upsat Sfax), focusing on medical simulation pedagogy and comparing two training techniques: low-fidelity simulation LFS (mannequin) versus standardized patient training (SP) for peripheral venous line placement.

About the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH 2023):

The International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH) is a scientific conference that explores the latest innovations and best practices in healthcare simulation. IMSH provides the tools and resources healthcare professionals need to advance their skills, impact change in delivery systems and practice, and, ultimately, improve patient safety.

Now in its 23rd year and as is the case every year, the MSC team attended the conference from January 21-25, 2023 between in-person and Virtual attendance.

Prof. Dziri attended the in-person events at the Orlando Convention Center, as well as the virtual IMSH Delivers attended by Mr. Ibrahim Amara (Pedagogical Coordinator), Ms. Mouna Benrhouma, and Prof. Mamoun Bencheikh (Simulation educators).
